About The Position

The Production Specialist assembles metal products such as doors and windows, cuts and punches wood and metal materials for later assembly, and cuts and processes soft plate glass. Working on the shop floor in a leadership role, the position helps ensure the daily schedule is met safely and efficiently while maintaining product quality. The role supports departmental safety, quality, productivity, and cost-avoidance efforts; performs a range of assembly tasks; and provides leadership for the department in the absence of the Operations Team Leader.

Requirements

• Basic computer skills and ability to perform data entry.

Responsibilities

• Help ensure the daily schedule is met safely, with quality products and efficient staffing.
• Assemble parts according to product knowledge or established processes and procedures.
• Operate drill presses, sawing equipment, punch presses, laminating and riveting machines, and other equipment used in assembly.
• Perform virtually all assembly positions as needed.
• Assist with assigning personnel to daily jobs and ensure proper rotation.
• Inform department leadership about equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
• Identify potential workflow issues and assist with resolving them.
• Perform job requirements and operate equipment within safety guidelines, reporting nonconformance.
• Provide information and support to personnel.
• Recommend improvements to current processes.
• Perform basic computer tasks and data entry as needed.
• Lead the department in the absence of the Operations Team Leader.
