About The Position

The Merger & Acquisition (M&A) Financial Analyst I supports merger and acquisition activity by providing financial analysis, modeling, and due diligence throughout the full lifecycle management of acquisition transactions. Supports preparation and post-close assistance of integration work streams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field.
  • 2 years of experience in finance or accounting related role.
  • Experience in strategic planning, corporate finance, or valuation work.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Excellent customer service skills include being competent, accurate, responsive, and engaged.
  • Must possess solid decision-making capabilities and analytical skills; must be able to look beyond the data for assumptions and implications.
  • Must possess and demonstrate the ability to take initiative, be a strong team player, respond to work demands in a flexible manner and produce timely, high quality work products in a deadline-oriented environment with minimal supervision.
  • Must have experience in analyzing business trends, including identification of risks and opportunities and have the ability to present recommendations in a timely, clear and concise manner.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills with confidence and maturity sufficient to interact with all levels of personnel within the organization.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate ideas and analysis in a clear and concise manner.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with financial modelling of potential acquisition targets.
  • Supports project management, coordination, and administration of the financial and operational due diligence processes.
  • Aids in consolidation and presentation of financial impacts, risks, financial modeling, due diligence, integration matters, and recommended remediation actions identified during target evaluation.
  • Assist in the coordination of third-party advisers, including legal, tax, bankers, and financial consultants.
  • Partners with the integration team on pre- and post-close planning and execution.
  • Contributes to the process to develop, document, and institutionalize best practices supporting the M&A growth strategy.
  • Researches and reports on current and future expected M&A market conditions.
  • Supports the evaluation of potential acquisitions including target screening, research, documentation, and initial outreach.
  • Tracks and reports financial synergies, acquisition costs, and performance against initial deal models.
  • Responsible for updating, maintaining, and tracking target information via CRM or preferred tool/software.
  • Supports other ad hoc financial projects as assigned by the Manager M&A Finance or Director of M&A.
  • Supports the month end financial close process post-acquisition for newly acquired entities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or designate.
