About The Position

Fluent Software Group is looking for an Analyst/Associate to help build and manage a growing portfolio of software businesses, while continuing to drive new acquisitions globally. This is a true ownership role. You will be accountable for a set of existing portfolio companies while simultaneously sourcing and executing new deals. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives on relationships, enjoys building from the ground up, and wants to grow into a long-term operator-investor role rather than a transactional M&A seat.

Requirements

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Culture add and effective communication style
  • Financial and analytical acumen
  • 1–5+ years of experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or a similar role
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills — comfortable engaging founders and senior stakeholders
  • Proven ability to build and manage an acquisition pipeline
  • Solid financial analysis and valuation capability (models, diligence, deal structuring)
  • Comfortable owning work independently in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
  • Genuine interest in long-term portfolio building and operating partnership

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with vertical market software, buy-and-build strategies, or portfolio oversight is a strong plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Take accountability for a group of existing Fluent portfolio companies
  • Act as a long-term partner to management teams, supporting growth, performance, and value creation
  • Build deep, trusted relationships with founders and operators post-acquisition
  • Generate proprietary deal flow through founder-led outreach, broker relationships, and networking
  • Build and maintain a strong acquisition pipeline across multiple verticals
  • Lead deals end-to-end, from initial outreach and evaluation through diligence, negotiation, and close
  • Work closely with Senior Associate/Portfolio Manager and the broader investment team throughout the transaction lifecycle
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for founders, brokers, and advisors
  • Represent Fluent's long-term, people-first investment philosophy externally
  • Balance financial rigor with empathy, credibility, and trust-building

Benefits

  • Highly competitive compensation
  • Meaningful responsibility and ownership from day one
  • Clear progression toward a Portfolio Manager–style role
  • Exposure to a high volume of global software transactions
  • Long-term career path focused on ownership, not churn
  • Free lunches everyday and breakfast on Fridays!
  • Travel, events and networking opportunities
  • Innovative, dynamic and growth mindset environment
