Lumber Handler

About The Position
The Lumber Handler supports lumber order preparation and repacking. The role verifies quantities against the daily production list, inspects lumber for sellable condition, packs and bands products appropriately, updates pack quantities using a scan gun, and creates and applies new shipping placards. The position also maintains clean work and warehouse areas and follows required safety practices, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Lumber experience is a plus.

Responsibilities
- Observe all safety requirements, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Confirm that counts on items pulled for each order match the daily production list provided by the Production Planner.
- Inspect each piece of lumber during repacking to ensure it is in sellable condition.
- Pack product appropriately using corner protectors and other required packing materials.
- Band product uniformly.
- Use a scan gun to adjust original quantities on lumber packs so the placard reflects the new pack quantity.
- Generate a new placard using a scan gun or computer for the pack shipping to the customer, and apply it to the unit.
- Keep the piece/wrap area and warehouse aisles clean at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
