This position functions as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the department, with potential for both administrative and clinical duties. In an administrative role, the LPN serves as a liaison between physicians and patients, handling phone calls, referring physicians, providing clinical justification for insurance reimbursement, communicating lab results, and patient education, while documenting in Epic. They may also cover clinical care if needed. In a clinical role, the LPN prepares and maintains exam rooms, interacts directly with patients for tasks like vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and administering medications/vaccines under physician order. These tasks are specific to the department's specialty. The LPN will assist with procedures, direct patient flow, and document in Epic. They provide supervised nursing care according to established standards and practices and may cover administrative duties if required.
