Provide licensed professional nursing services primarily for the External Counterpulsation (ECP) Program, with support for the Coumadin Clinic and floor nursing as needed. Support cardiovascular physicians, surgeons, nurse practitioners, and other medical personnel in delivering patient care. Evaluate patients for ECP eligibility by reviewing medical records, medications, symptoms, treatment history, and overall clinical status. Serve as the nurse liaison for the ECP department, coordinating patient clearance with the nurse practitioner and/or cardiologist. Obtain patient consents and provide education about ECP therapy and related treatments. Monitor patients throughout ECP treatments, including EKGs, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, and other clinical assessments. Provide Coumadin/Warfarin monitoring and management according to established clinical protocols. Perform floor nursing duties including patient triage, assessments, bloodwork, physician support, diagnostic testing preparation, and patient education. Maintain accurate clinical documentation, assist with coding and billing requirements, and ensure required clinic quality and safety checks are completed. Maintain medical equipment, supplies, treatment areas, and required records to support safe and effective patient care.
