About The Position

Benchmark is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment. The nurse will work with a supportive team and build relationships with residents and fellow associates. The listed regular schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.; per diem work may also be available as needed on all shifts.

Requirements

• Current state RN license and CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved RN program, as required by the state.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience working as a nurse is preferred.
• Previous paid or volunteer experience working with older adults is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in resident behavior and health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, Resident Care Assistants, and Executive Director in accordance with state regulations.
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants.
• Mentor, guide, and direct Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their jobs.
• Coordinate care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with support for resident independence.
• Recognize and help prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources in accordance with state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response systems, and know when to call for backup.
