About The Position

Under limited supervision, the licensed practical nurse (LPN) delivers patient care to assigned patients using the nursing processes of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Care must comply with federal, state, and local laws and the standards, policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations governing the facility where the LPN is working. This is a part-time pediatric position scheduled Thursday and Friday from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Requirements

• Active North Carolina nursing license.
• Reliable transportation.
• Provide a copy of current TB results or chest X-ray.
• Provide a copy of current CPR certification as required by agency policy.
• Be flexible and organized, and able to exercise independent and sound judgment in performing job duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing as ordered in the plan of treatment and nursing care plan.
• Identify and follow through on new problems, changes, and resolutions, documenting them in clinical notes, supplemental physician orders, and the nursing care plan.
• Communicate skilled observations and significant changes in patient status to the Director of Clinical Services and/or Clinical Manager.
• Request modification of orders or additional orders based on the patient’s clinical status and skilled nursing judgment.
• Participate in other agency-mandated activities, such as in-services, when requested by the Agency Director.
• Adhere to MGA policies, procedures, and Handbook.
• Report on time and as scheduled to complete work within the designated time.
