About The Position

The Resident Care Supervisor, a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), works in an assisted living facility to support residents’ general health and well-being by providing nursing care. The role assists with medication administration and monitoring personal care provided by Resident Assistants, and communicates residents’ care needs and changes in condition to the next shift and nursing leadership. Elderwood’s assisted living and adult home communities support residents’ independence while providing assistance with daily needs and coordinating health services.

Requirements

Current state license and credentials as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Organizational skills and the ability to supervise department staff effectively and work well with personnel in other departments.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or more advanced level.

Experience in geriatric nursing.

Responsibilities

Supervise, administer, and/or assist with medications for assigned residents, and monitor residents participating in the self-medication program.
Monitor personal care provided by Resident Assistants and assist them with residents’ direct care as needed.
Report residents’ changes in condition, daily needs, and progress to the Director of Nursing.
Follow each resident’s plan of care.
Receive, store, and distribute controlled substance medications, and ensure medication stored by the facility is properly placed and used, including medication in the medication cart and medication-room refrigerator.
Maintain documentation of resident care in Case Notes, Medication Administration Records, and other required records.
Assist with problem-solving related to staffing, supplies, and resident care during the shift.
Maintain resident care standards and respect residents’ rights and preferences in care and treatment.
Receive and store lost-and-found articles and notify the Director of Nursing and/or Case Manager.
Treat residents with respect and kindness at all times.
