About The Position

The LPN/MA provides professional nursing care and services for assigned physicians or departments under Firelands Physician Group policies and procedures. Under physician supervision, the role supports health promotion, health maintenance, and illness management. The employee assists physicians with patient care and provides information to help patients use and benefit from clinic services. Clinical duties include monitoring patient flow; obtaining and documenting vital signs, current medications, and chief complaints; performing technical laboratory functions such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and stress testing; monitoring, tracking, and charging medical equipment; scheduling procedures and tests; and performing medical scribe duties. This is a full-time, day-shift position with FPG Family Practice in Castalia.

Requirements

For the LPN pathway, graduate from an accredited practical nursing program and hold current Ohio licensure; alternatively, be a high school graduate and hold Medical Assistant certification.
Ability to perform as a medical scribe.
Current CPR certification.
Knowledge of the technical application of the nursing process.
Critical thinking skills, including initiative, judgment, problem solving, and decision making.
Valid Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and insurability under Firelands' auto policy.
Provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request.
