About The Position

Care Dimensions has a truly meaningful purpose – to provide compassionate care to our patients who are faced with an advanced or end-of-life illness. Since 1978, Care Dimensions has been a driving force in expanding access to hospice and palliative care in Massachusetts. At Care Dimensions, we invest in people who take pride in caring and supporting. We support and strengthen our people with extensive training, teamwork and technology. Our values are embedded in our work, each and every day: Compassion, Excellence, Collaboration, Integrity, Responsiveness, Innovation. As part of the Care Dimensions team, you’ll gain the support and inspiration for a career you’ll find meaningful every day. The Care Dimensions Licensed Practical Nurse Residency Program is designed for experienced LPNs who would like to make the transition to a meaningful and exciting career in hospice and palliative care. Our program focuses on creating a collaborative professional development environment where experienced LPNs can safely further develop their critical thinking and nursing skills within the hospice specialty, while working with our patients in a variety of settings including home care. An experienced team of clinical educators, dedicated preceptor(s), and experienced clinicians will support your growth within the specialty of hospice nursing. You’ll form meaningful relationships with your peers as you share new experiences together. Our LPN Residency program is a paid, full-time, intensive orientation program followed by a nurse residency period (total of three months) that serves as a bridge between past nursing roles you’ve had and hospice, providing you a smooth transition into a professional specialty nursing role. LPN residents will be employed at Care Dimensions during the residency and with successful completion of the residency, begin a full-time position as an LPN float. At the end of the residency program, the Resident will become an active member of the interdisciplinary team (IDT), and work under the supervision of a Clinical Manager and collaborate with other IDT members to provide care in accordance with current professional standards and practice to maximize the comfort and health of patients and families facing a life-limiting illness. Following the Residency, a commitment to work full-time for one year is expected for all LPN residents. You will increase confidence in your clinical skills and judgment and enhance your critical thinking, and so much more—all in a safe, nurturing, team-oriented environment. You will be prepared to provide meaningful care to patients and families at this important and vulnerable time of their lives.
