About The Position

The Saint Francis Hospital New Graduate RN Residency Program is designed for soon-to-be and newly licensed RNs to build a strong clinical foundation, gain real-world experience, and grow alongside other new nurses. The program offers hands-on preceptorship, NCLEX test preparation and reimbursement, professional growth and development opportunities, and a supportive cohort environment within a culture of compassion, teamwork, and growth.

Requirements

  • Graduating within the next 6 months or have obtained RN licensure within the last 6 months.
  • Must have successfully passed the NCLEX prior to the start date in the program.
  • Employment cannot begin until proof of passing the NCLEX and RN licensure is obtained for candidates applying prior to graduation.
  • Full-time commitment to the established scheduling structure of the Graduate Nurse Residency Program.
  • Ability to meet and maintain scheduling expectations, including three 12-hour shifts per week and rotating weekends.
  • Graduated from a state-approved school of nursing or an accredited school.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the Nurse Residency Program for professional growth throughout the first year of practice.
  • Attend a residency class once per week during the initial 8-week orientation period.
  • Continue participating in monthly residency sessions for the next 9 months.
  • Mirror the assigned preceptor’s schedule, including shift times and weekends, during floor orientation.
  • Transition to a monthly self-scheduling process after successful completion of floor orientation, subject to departmental staffing needs.
  • Meet and maintain mandatory scheduling expectations, including three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating weekends, and potential additional shifts, holidays, and schedule adjustments.
