About The Position
The Saint Francis Hospital New Graduate RN Residency Program is designed for soon-to-be and newly licensed RNs to provide a gateway to a rewarding nursing career. This immersive program helps participants build a strong clinical foundation, gain real-world experience, and grow alongside other new nurses. The program offers hands-on preceptorship from experienced mentors, NCLEX test preparation and reimbursement, professional growth and development opportunities, and a supportive cohort environment within a culture of compassion, teamwork, and growth.
Requirements
- Graduating within the next 6 months or have obtained RN licensure within the last 6 months.
- Successfully passed the NCLEX prior to the start date in the program.
- Proof of passing the NCLEX and RN licensure must be obtained before employment can begin for candidates applying prior to graduation.
- Must be able to meet and maintain the established scheduling structure of the Graduate Nurse Residency Program.
- Graduated from a state-approved school of nursing or an accredited school.
Nice To Haves
- Recent acute care experience.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in the Nurse Residency Program for the first year of practice.
- Attend a residency class once per week during the initial 8-week orientation period.
- Participate in monthly residency sessions for the following 9 months.
- Mirror the assigned preceptor’s schedule, including shift times and weekends, during floor orientation.
- Transition to a monthly self-scheduling process upon successful completion of floor orientation, subject to departmental staffing needs.
- Meet and maintain established scheduling structure, including three (3) 12-hour shifts per week, rotating weekends, and potential adjustments for departmental needs.
