About The Position

Southwest Church is seeking individuals for an intensive two-year residency program focused on hands-on ministry training. This program offers tuition assistance in conjunction with Hope International University, mentorship from seasoned ministry leaders, and seminars by guest lecturers. Residents will work alongside the Southwest Church team to "make Jesus famous." The program involves rotations within specific ministries to gain practical experience and guidance from rotation leads. The residency is designed to disciple individuals into committed followers of Jesus Christ, focusing on being Planted, Rooted, Growing, and Going.

Requirements

Must pursue a gospel-centered life of holiness, repentance, and intimacy with Christ, demonstrated through corporate worship, personal scripture study, prayer, volunteer service, community, and accountability.
Must agree with and adhere to Southwest Church’s Life Style statement and employee handbook.
Must establish Southwest Church as your home church for the duration of your residency.
Must be teachable and willing to continue learning.
Must be able to meet deadlines while managing multiple responsibilities.
Must be flexible to adjust to changing needs of ministry.
Physical requirements: Constant periods of sitting and repetitive motions. Occasionally able to lift or move up to 40lbs and standing or walking.

Responsibilities

Attend all classes, including HIU classes and Downline Institute.
Fulfill all required readings for coursework.
Satisfactorily complete all projects and assignments.
Fulfill temporary, part-time hours (max of 25 per week) through ministry rotations.
Gain hands-on ministry experience and receive mentorship during rotations.
Attend all scheduled field trips, events, and meetings, which may include staff retreats, church visits, conferences, sermon text discussions, and staff chapels.
