Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking an LPN for the Emergency Department (ED) - Level 1 Trauma Center. This is a full-time position with 36 hours per week, working three 12-hour shifts from 1:00 pm to 1:00 am. The Emergency Department is a 53-bed unit within a Level 1 Trauma Facility equipped to handle various medical emergencies, with approximately 10% being trauma-related. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic nursing care under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) within the scope of practice dictated by the State Boards of Nursing. The LPN must be detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to handle physically demanding tasks. The LPN is an essential member of the healthcare team, offering patient care and supporting higher-level nurses and physicians in delivering comprehensive medical services. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is the region's first Magnet Hospital, a 525-bed medical center, and a primary teaching facility, home to the area's only Level 1 Trauma Center within a 126-mile region. The hospital also features four intensive care units and two intensive care units in its 112-bed Nationally Ranked Heart Hospital.
