LPN Emergency Department Trauma Level 1
About The Position
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for its Emergency Department (ED), a Level 1 Trauma Center. The ED is a 53-bed unit equipped to handle a variety of medical emergencies, with approximately 10% being trauma-related. The LPN provides basic nursing care under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) within the scope of practice dictated by the State Boards of Nursing. The LPN must be detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to handle physically demanding tasks, serving as an essential member of the healthcare team by offering patient care and supporting higher-level nurses and physicians in delivering comprehensive medical services. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is the region's first Magnet Hospital, a 525-bed medical center, and a primary teaching facility. It is home to the area's only Level 1 Trauma Center within a 126-mile region and features four intensive care units and two intensive care units in its 112-bed Nationally Ranked Heart Hospital.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Licensed Practical Nursing required
- LPN license required
- No prior LPN experience required

Responsibilities
