About The Position

HealthRIGHT 360 is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing accessible and comprehensive healthcare services to vulnerable populations, aiming to overcome systemic barriers and promote health equity. The organization offers a wide range of services, including mental health care, substance use treatment (residential and outpatient), and primary health services, along with transitional support for individuals re-entering the community. The Outpatient Program specifically serves individuals with substance use disorders, mental health issues, or co-occurring disorders, working with high-risk populations from diverse backgrounds. The program is open to adults of any gender identity and accepts a broad range of participants, including walk-ins, referrals, and step-down clients from residential programs. The LPHA Supervisor II, under the direction of the SF Adult OP Program Manager and Divisional Director of Outpatient Services, serves as the on-site supervisor for clinical staff and the liaison between mental health services and other internal and external entities. This role oversees all clinical services for the Intensive Outpatient, Outpatient, and Recovery Support Services programs. The incumbent collaborates with the Director of Clinical Care to ensure the quality and efficacy of behavioral health services.

Requirements

  • BBS Registration with 2 years of therapist experience and 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with Welligent/AVATAR/EPIC EHR systems.
  • Experience with Drug Medi-Cal procedures.
  • Experience in dual diagnosis substance abuse treatment in an inpatient or outpatient community mental health setting.
  • Supervised experience in a mental health or psychiatric setting with varied populations.
  • Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self-sufficiency.
  • First Aid Certified within 30 days of employment.
  • CPR Certified within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative supervision to all masters-level LPHA clinicians, ensuring they meet professional, clinical, productivity, and compliance standards.
  • Provide supervision and oversight of all Outpatient clinical staff.
  • Oversee documentation for the SUD counseling team, including the formation and functioning of DMC treatment teams.
  • Coordinate with the compliance team and program QA to ensure clinical staff adhere to DMC documentation compliance.
  • Conduct monthly chart reviews of open and closed charts.
  • Contribute to the creation of the clinical schedule.
  • Assign clients to staff and therapists, and create the agenda for weekly staff meetings.
  • Work with the SUD Counseling Lead and SUD counselors to provide comprehensive, trauma-informed, and harm reduction care.
  • Coordinate staff and clinical services to expand and meet client needs, thereby furthering and growing the program.
  • Interview, onboard, and train new staff.
  • Respond to client crises and attend to the program milieu daily.
  • Cover groups and individual sessions when clinicians are absent, potentially carrying a small caseload.
  • Coordinate care with the medical team, including psychiatry.
  • Supervise the OP Intake and Outreach Team to ensure client access to Outpatient services.
  • Act as a liaison between mental health facility staff and other internal agency components and outside entities.
  • Assist facility staff in creating a clinical schedule.
  • Assign staff to groups and clients to staff and student therapists.
  • Ensure mental health coverage for the facility and actively manage therapist caseloads to meet agency productivity requirements (20 hours of direct services weekly).
  • Ensure mental health coverage for the facility by coordinating time off, ensuring coverage during holidays, and minimizing gaps due to training.
  • Provide oversight for all treatment teams under the Drug Medi-Cal (DMC) model, ensuring weekly team meetings and adherence to administrative and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct Medi-Cal eligibility for clients referred to mental health services and for clients referred for medication evaluations.
  • Send clinic referrals from the facility to the designated liaison.
  • Receive clinic appointments and ensure staff and clients are aware of scheduled appointments.
  • Assist in ensuring timely correction of errors related to EHR systems within 24 business hours.
  • Provide consultation as needed for staff at all levels.
  • Assist with psychological crises directly or by assigning other mental health staff.
  • Set the tone of treatment by fostering an environment of safety within the treatment facility.
  • Maintain and foster staff morale within the facility.
  • Establish and maintain staff compliance with DMC documentation requirements.
  • Conduct assessments, provide individual therapy, conduct curriculum-based classes and process groups, and provide crisis intervention services.
  • Cover clinical services as needed during planned or unplanned absences.
  • Manage an individual therapy caseload as needed.
  • Perform individual psychotherapy services on an outpatient basis as needed.
  • Provide counseling, support, and psychoeducation about health and mental health problems, including screening, assessments, treatment planning, case management, and referrals.
  • Maintain confidentiality while working as part of a treatment team and adhering to program norms.
  • Participate in case conferences, treatment planning, and clinical discussions for holistic care.
  • Communicate with prescribing psychiatrists regarding medication compliance, side effects, and follow-up appointments.
  • Facilitate/co-facilitate process and psycho-educational groups for adults with co-morbid substance abuse diagnoses.
  • Assist OP Intake Team with initial psychological assessments.
  • Assist clients and care coordinators with referrals and linkages to community resources.
  • Perform floor duties in the milieu, including assisting clients with appointments and transportation, overseeing participation in program activities, and mediating conflict.
  • Actively participate with the treatment team to continuously assess and refine clinical programming.
  • Manage client risk and crisis intervention.
  • Attend staff and agency meetings.
  • Participate in agency trainings as required.
  • Comply with Board requirements for license registration/renewal.
  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, complete release and consent forms, and billing and reporting paperwork in hard copy and online.
  • Complete Medicare, Medi-Cal, and Drug Medi-Cal documentation and billing.
  • Document intakes, discharges, individual and group services in various electronic systems according to guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
