Loss Prevention Detective Full Time
About The Position
The Loss Prevention Detective completes daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. The role identifies and resolves internal and external theft, conducts apprehensions in accordance with established policies and guidelines, and communicates with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives. The Detective supports shrink-reduction goals and programs, participates in investigations and surveillance as assigned, and promotes a culture of honesty, integrity, confidentiality, and safety. The position also provides courteous, knowledgeable customer service and professionally handles evidence, documentation, and legal activities as needed.

Responsibilities
- Adhere to established shoplifter guidelines and policies.
- Provide timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers.
- Promote honesty and integrity while maintaining confidentiality.
- Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
- Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
- Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
- Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Maintain appropriate evidence, understand law enforcement procedures, and participate professionally in legal activities as needed, such as police calls.
- Coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
- Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Encourage Associates to use shrink-reduction resources.
- Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
- Complete daily tasks required for store loss-prevention and safety programs.
- Communicate with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives.
- Identify and resolve internal and external theft.
- Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
