About The Position

The Loss Prevention Detective completes daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs. The role works with Store Management and Associates to support shrink reduction, promote safety, identify and resolve internal and external theft, and maintain a culture of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality. The detective provides timely, courteous, and knowledgeable customer service and conducts apprehensions in accordance with established policies and guidelines.

The position participates in investigations and surveillance as assigned, maintains evidence, completes and distributes accurate and timely paperwork, and may participate professionally in legal activities such as police calls. It also coordinates shrink-related activities with Store Management and supports a safe store environment. The position is at Marshalls Store 0791 in Brownsville, Texas. Starting pay is $14.55 to $20.40 per hour, with actual starting pay based on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs.
• Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
• Conduct apprehensions within established policies and guidelines and adhere to shoplifter policies.
• Communicate with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives.
• Identify and resolve internal and external theft.
• Provide timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers.
• Promote a culture of honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
• Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
• Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
• Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
• Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and on time.
• Maintain appropriate evidence, demonstrate understanding of law enforcement procedures, and participate professionally in legal activities as needed, such as police calls.
• Coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
• Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Encourage Associate use of shrink-reduction resources.
• Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
