Full time Loss Prevention Detective
About The Position
The Loss Prevention Detective completes daily tasks for store loss prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. The role identifies and resolves internal and external theft, conducts apprehensions in accordance with established policies and guidelines, and communicates with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives. The position also supports store shrink-reduction goals and promotes safety awareness and a safe environment. The detective observes, apprehends, or deters acts of dishonesty; participates in investigations and surveillance as assigned; completes and distributes accurate, timely paperwork; and maintains appropriate evidence. The role requires an understanding of law enforcement procedures and professional participation in legal activities as needed, such as police calls. It also involves coordinating shrink-related activities with Store Management, encouraging Associates to use shrink-reduction resources, and complying with labor laws, policies, and procedures. The position provides courteous, knowledgeable customer service and promotes honesty, integrity, and confidentiality. The starting pay range is USD $14.55 to $20.40 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
- Complete daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs.
- Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
- Conduct apprehensions in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
- Communicate with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives.
- Identify and resolve internal and external theft.
- Adhere to established shoplifter guidelines and policies.
- Provide timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers.
- Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
- Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
- Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
- Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
- Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and on time.
- Maintain appropriate evidence, understand law enforcement procedures, and participate professionally in legal activities as needed, such as police calls.
- Coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
- Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Encourage Associate use of shrink-reduction resources.
- Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
