About The Position

The Loss Prevention Detective completes daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. The role identifies and resolves internal and external theft, conducts apprehensions in accordance with established policies and guidelines, participates in investigations and surveillance as assigned, and supports store shrink-reduction goals. The detective maintains appropriate evidence, completes accurate and timely paperwork, and demonstrates an understanding of law enforcement procedures while participating professionally in legal activities as needed. The position also communicates with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives, encourages use of shrink-reduction resources, promotes safety awareness, and helps maintain a safe environment. It provides customers with timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service and promotes a culture of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality. The role requires basic computer, time-management, communication, judgment, and investigative or analytical skills; the ability to work effectively with colleagues and supervisors; and a flexible schedule to support business needs. The starting pay range is USD $16.25 to $20.40 per hour. Actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. Responsibilities

Complete daily tasks required for store loss prevention and safety programs.
Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
Conduct apprehensions in accordance with established policies and guidelines.

Identify and resolve internal and external theft.
Follow established shoplifter guidelines and policies.
Provide customers with timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and on time.
Maintain appropriate evidence and demonstrate understanding of law enforcement procedures; participate professionally in legal activities as needed, such as police calls.
Coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Encourage Associates to use shrink-reduction resources.
Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
