About The Position

This is a long-term substitute position for a High School English Teacher. The estimated dates for this role are September 3, 2026, to October 9, 2026. A New Hampshire Teacher Certification is required for this position.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Requirements as set by the State of New Hampshire Certification Authorities and Board of School Committee regulations.
  • State of NH Teacher Certification in English 5-12 (0500) or other approved certification status may be considered.
  • Must be NHDOE certified.

Responsibilities

  • Create a positive, safe, and productive classroom environment.
  • Establish and enforce rules, procedures, and expectations for behavior.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
  • Teach core subjects such as reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs and learning styles.
  • Evaluate student performance through tests, quizzes, assignments, and observations.
  • Track and report student progress to parents and school administrators.
  • Use assessment data to guide instruction and provide targeted support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and support staff to enhance student learning.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
  • Foster social-emotional growth and encourage a love of learning.
  • Identify and address individual student needs, including those with IEPs or 504 plans, and multilingual learners.
