About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Long Term Substitute for our 6th Grade at King Elementary School. This position requires an individual who is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The substitute will be paid at the long term substitute rate per the DREA contract.

Requirements

• Valid teaching certification or substitute teaching license in the state.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, staff, and families.
• Ability to adapt instructional methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the needs of all students.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings.
• Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records of student performance and behavior.
• Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.
