Long Term Disability Analyst
About The Position
The LTD Sr. Ability Analyst investigates claims to determine whether insured individuals qualify for long-term disability benefits and monitors claims for ongoing eligibility. The role supports customers as they rebuild their lives after an unexpected event or illness while following corporate claim standards, policies, procedures, and applicable statutory, regulatory, and ethics requirements. The position may be hybrid or remote. Employees who live near an office location are expected to work in the office three days per week, Tuesday through Thursday. Employees who do not live near an office work remotely and may be expected to come into an office as business needs arise. Locations are Lake Mary, Florida; Sunrise, Florida; or Hartford, Connecticut. Training lasts 6–8 weeks during core business hours, Monday through Friday. After training, the schedule is 40 hours, Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience providing quality customer service.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain quality and accuracy while meeting productivity targets in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to thrive in a structured team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously.
- Successfully complete a multi-week New Hire Training Course as a condition of employment.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of claims experience.
- Experience with medical terminology.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
Responsibilities
- Obtain information from claimants, employers, and medical providers to make Long-Term Disability decisions.
- Analyze medical and financial information to determine eligibility for benefits.
