About The Position

This job is at a Depot Level repair facility maintenance on types of aircraft, which include, but not limited to AV-8, C-130, C-2, E-2, EA-6B, F/A-18, H-1, H-53, H-60, MQ-8, P-3, P-8. F-35 and V-22. Military aviation platform experience is a plus. At least two years of documented experience in Aerospace and/or Aircraft log and records procedures and processes. Provide verification to the COR of this experience during the first 30 days of performance and/or upon hiring. Review all incoming Ready for Issue (RFI) engine logbooks and included documentation for accuracy and completeness and maintain these logs throughout the depot custody of the engine. Review, screen, and transcribe into the logbook from completed work documents, the actual work performed on the engines in accordance with the CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) Screen for accuracy all Scheduled Removal Component (SRC) Cards, Module Service Record (MSR) Cards, Equipment Historical Record (EHR) Cards and Assembly Service Record (ASR) Cards to ensure all information is compatible with the latest technical publications and is in the format required by the CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) . Through analysis of completed work documents, ensure that all work directed, has been accomplished and certified in all respects and that applicable changes and bulletins have been incorporated and are in compliance with the most current technical publications. Review all Technical Directive bulletins and change configuration sheets from the shop processing documents reflecting those technical directives accomplished during the processing of the engine/accessories, for inclusion in the logbooks. Furnish a completed F404/F1D2 Engine/Module Log Record Data Sheet and F404/F1D2 Engine Parts Life Tracking Sheet with every F404/F1D2 Engine/Module for the purpose of Parts Life Tracking System/Comprehensive Engine Management System (PLTS/CEMS) entry by the Engine Production Data Technician. Knowledge to interpret technical directives, engineering pertaining to inspections, modifications, maintenance and rework of engines. Have thorough knowledge of the CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) and make logbook entries consistent with the guidelines of the CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) . Have the knowledge of production control functions, reporting procedures and have a thorough knowledge of the routing system that moves components and engines through the rework process. Input and extract technical directive information and SRC Cards, ASR Cards, MSR Cards tracking information for engines and components from various computer systems and programs. Shall be required, on occasion, to use their judgment (within established parameters specified within CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) to interpret the specific entry required for the logbook. Must be aware of the importance of correctly transcribing information into the engine logbooks, which may ultimately affect the airworthiness of an aircraft. Omissions and inaccuracies may create dangerous or questionable conditions necessitating expenditure of numerous man-hours to correct or prove entries, or if not corrected or proven could mean the loss of life and aircraft. Must be a qualified typist and have the ability to operate commonly used computer terminals. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years Logs and Records Clerk (General Clerk III) experience
  • Experience in heavy structure U.S. Military or related FAA or civil aviation
  • Must have Military installation DEPOT level maintenance experience
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to pass a NACI which could include a credit check
  • Must be able to walk, stand, crawl, kneel and bend on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp, pull over hand, push, reach or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • May be required to lift up to 44 pounds and heavy, moderate carrying up to 44 pounds.
  • May be required to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales with or without corrective lens.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color, shades of color and judge three-dimensional depth.

Nice To Haves

  • Military aviation platform experience is a plus.
  • A&P license not required but a plus
  • Prefer experience from military fixed wing community or civilian heavy structure background
