About The Position

This position is for an Aircraft Logs and Records Technician, GS-301-07, responsible for maintaining aircraft and engine logbooks and associated records. The role involves performing all operator, data entry, and retrieval functions for aircraft recordkeeping, including networking between stations and correcting data errors. The technician will transmit and receive data electronically, extract data, formulate management reports, and create archives and backups for military deployments. Additionally, the role encompasses a range of clerical and administrative duties related to aircraft maintenance, such as preparing reports, correspondence, filing, typing, and performing database and systems analysis.

Requirements

  • Proficient performing all operator, data entry, and retrieval functions.
  • Ability to transmit and receive data via disk, modem, and other electronic means.
  • Ability to extract data, formulate and interpret management reports, create archives, backups, and data saves.
  • Ability to perform a wide range of administrative duties such as preparing reports and correspondence, filing and typing.
  • U.S. Navy Aviation Maintenance Administrationman (AZ) “A” School or three (3) years relevant military experience.
  • Must be able to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd or weekend shift as required.
  • Must satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check Local Records Check and Credit (NACLC).
  • Must be eligible for Common Access Card (CAC).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain aircraft and engine logbooks and associated records.
  • Perform all operator, data entry, and retrieval functions associated with aircraft recordkeeping.
  • Perform networking functions between individual stations, including analysis and correction of errors.
  • Transmit and receive data via floppy disk, modem, and other electronic means.
  • Extract data, formulate and interpret management reports, create archives, backups, and data saves.
  • Perform clerical and administrative duties related to aircraft maintenance.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence, file, and type.
  • Perform database and systems analysis.
  • Ensure Technical Directive (TD) Compliance.
  • Manage Support Equipment Planned Maintenance System (SE PMS).
  • Maintain Aircraft/Engine Logbooks record keeping and reporting as required by COMNAVAIRFOR INST. 4790 Series.
  • Handle Aircraft Readiness Status Reporting.
  • Manage Naval Aircraft Flight Record (OPNAVINST 3710/4).
  • Manage Aircraft Inspection and Acceptance Record (OPNAVINST 4790/141).
  • Generate all situational and periodic reports required by TYCOM, TYPEWING, or MALS-26.
  • Manage all current and future reporting required of MALS-26 maintenance through Navy/Marine Corps systems (e.g., Optimized-Organizational Maintenance Activity (OOMA), Naval Aviation Logistics Data Analysis (NALDA), Naval Air Technical Data and Engineering Services Command (NATEC)).
  • Perform Ad-Hoc reporting as approved by the COR.
  • Approve (sign aircraft and engine logbook entries).
  • Create and complete the entire NAVAIR 500C prior to review by Government TD Coordinator and Government TD Manager.
  • Perform duties for Organizational “O” Level maintenance.
  • Provide scheduled and unscheduled maintenance support documentation for H-1 Aircraft.
  • Document aircraft maintenance actions via logs, records, forms, and electronic means.
  • Perform Technical Directive compliance entries.
  • Maintain Aircraft, Engines, and SE Logbooks.
  • Serve as Dispersed Technical Publications Librarian (work center), as applicable.
  • Utilize current management information system(s) to maintain aircraft forms and records.
  • Process readiness documents.
  • Administer the aircraft configuration status accounting program.
  • Verify aircraft utilization reports.
  • Perform other Administrative Aircraft Maintenance reports as required by Site Management and/or the Customer.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
