About The Position

Legacy Supply Chain’s freight brokerage is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Logistics Specialist to support customer cargo movements and connect shipments with capable carriers. The role involves negotiating with carriers by phone, developing customer and carrier relationships, and expanding the partner carrier base. The schedule is Thursday through Monday: 1 p.m.–9 p.m. EST on weekdays and 9 a.m.–5 p.m. EST on Saturday and Sunday. Compensation is a competitive annual salary based on experience. The position works closely with operations, sales, and account management to understand customer transportation needs. It also supports accurate shipment and billing records, shared files and SOPs, customer service, and a collaborative workplace grounded in Legacy’s culture and values. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Responsibilities

Source carriers to arrange transportation of clients’ cargo.
Negotiate freight rates with carriers.
Track and trace shipments and troubleshoot shipment issues.
Build rapport with partner carriers and promote Legacy as a fair business partner.
Work with operations, sales, and account management to understand clients’ transportation needs.
Monitor and follow up on additional costs incurred during transit to minimize order costs.
Communicate with customers professionally and responsively, building rapport and solving problems creatively.
Communicate professionally with carriers and develop relationships as a fair business partner.
Maintain accurate database entries, including notes, shipment details, shippers, and carriers.
Maintain accurate and timely billing entries.
Maintain shared files and SOPs.
Contribute to a healthy working atmosphere emphasizing teamwork, communication, and Legacy’s culture and values.
Perform other duties as required.
