The incumbent may be responsible for planning, scheduling and monitoring inbound and materials shipments, managing the warehouse inbound freight, including controlling material movement throughout the entire product lifecycle, leading the coordination of inbound logistics activities from plants, tracking data, and reporting metrics for ongoing projects. Under general supervision, follows established company policies and procedures and applies acquired job skills to create and manage Import/Export and Domestic Shipment Files. This includes commercial invoice and file creation, AES filing, building loads, selecting modes/carriers, tracking shipments, issuing import and delivery instructions, issuing arrival notices, updating transit reports and databases, assuring invoicing, managing finished goods inventory, preparing/updating product order fulfillment reports, and preparing periodic reports for U.S. customs. The role also involves providing back-up for production planning at contract manufacturers, inputting efficiency improvements for logistics operations, filing and resolving freight claims, and assisting with various projects. Additional responsibilities may focus on specific departments or locations.
