About The Position

The Logistics Planner ensures effective coordination of inbound and outbound freight movements, including shuttle service activities, for customer orders and manufactured inventory between carrier and consignment locations. The role focuses on maximizing service and cost performance while coordinating with internal teams, customers, and carriers in a fast-paced transportation environment. The position also involves yard and shuttle service supervision, identifying compliance issues, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts that enhance financial performance, service levels, and value for internal and external customers. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
0–3 years of logistics industry experience.

Responsibilities

Build and validate daily load plans for cost and service using EFMS, Topex, a TMS system, or Red PrairieRoute interactive; expedite requests and ensure requested carrier selections are honored.
Ensure carriers receive daily load tenders via 204, fax, or TMS equipment.
Coordinate appointment acquisition to meet customer delivery requirements.
Communicate frequently with DHL Supply Chain transportation, customer support, operations, carriers, client transportation teams, and client Customer Service Organizations to maintain consistent direction and expectations.
Coordinate carrier pickup times and provide the distribution center with a daily shipment plan.
Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities to improve financial performance and service levels and enhance value for internal and external customers.
Identify compliance issues, participate in the metric feedback process, and propose possible remedies or action plans to the Operations supervisor.
Supervise yard and shuttle service.
