About The Position

The Logistics Planner coordinates inbound and outbound freight movements, including shuttle service activities, for customer orders and manufactured inventory between carrier and consignment locations. The role builds and validates daily load plans to balance cost and service, manages load tenders and delivery appointments, and coordinates carrier pickups and shipment plans with distribution centers. It also involves frequent communication with internal DHL teams and external customers and carriers, identifying continuous improvement opportunities, addressing compliance issues, and supervising yard and shuttle services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 0–3 years of logistics industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound freight movements, including shuttle services, for customer orders and manufactured inventory between carrier and consignment locations.
• Build and validate daily load plans for cost and service using EFMS, Topex, a TMS system, or Red PrairieRoute interactive.
• Handle expedite requests and ensure requested carrier selections are honored.
• Ensure carriers receive daily load tenders through 204, fax, or TMS equipment.
• Coordinate appointments to meet customer delivery requirements.
• Communicate with DHL Supply Chain transportation, customer support, operations, carriers, client transportation, and client Customer Service Organizations to ensure consistent direction and expectations.
• Coordinate carrier pickup times and provide the daily shipment plan to the distribution center.
• Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities that improve financial performance and service levels.
• Identify compliance issues and participate in the metric feedback process.
• Propose possible remedies or action plans to the Operations supervisor.
• Supervise yard and shuttle services.
