About The Position

Using the latest SAP Transportation Management System, a Logistics Planner plans, optimizes, and executes transportation for all supplier inbound activity destined for PACCAR assembly plants and PACCAR Parts Distribution Centers across North America. The Logistics Planner monitors transportation plans to ensure accuracy. This person monitors data accuracy within PACCAR’s Transportation Management System. The Logistics Planner also configures and optimizes transportation planning in the system as well as exceptions identified at the plant and suppliers. Candidate will work closely with PACCAR Materials, Plant Traffic, and PACCAR Parts personnel to ensure that consistent and reliable delivery schedules are maintained.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of work experience
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities in a changing environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and quality
  • Creative, self-motivated and results-driven work ethic
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • 1 or more years of transportation, material planning, and/or PACCAR experience preferred
  • Preferred industry knowledge of transportation and supply-chain best practices
  • Experience with SAP or transportation management systems desired.

Responsibilities

  • Plans inbound freight for his / her assigned geographic region within established timelines.
  • Establishes and maintains a strong working relationship with his / her assigned suppliers to achieve supplier TMS compliance and data accuracy. Coordinates corrective actions as required.
  • Establishes and maintains a strong collaborative working relationship with Plant Traffic and Materials personnel to provide accurate transportation plans.
  • Serves as the initial point of contact to establish and update transportation plans and exception management.
  • Involves various levels of management when needed to strengthen supplier compliance through effective communication and follow-through.
  • Monitors transportation plan accuracy to identify and communicate system configuration issues.
  • Assists with the implementation of cost savings initiatives.
  • Participates in supplier TMS training activities.
  • Other tasks as assigned
