About The Position

The Logistics Material Handler moves or cycle counts inventory accurately throughout the building using a smartphone-like device or vehicle-mounted PC and a forklift or order picker. The role contributes to team success by working safely and accurately while meeting defined productivity standards. This is a full-time, second-shift position, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, at nVent’s New Berlin, Wisconsin location. Starting pay is $17.00 per hour plus a $3.00 per hour shift premium. The position includes pick-location replenishment, inbound stock putaway, inventory cycle counting, truck loading and unloading, and occasional order picking. Employees complete forklift certification training for all lift types, conduct daily equipment inspections, perform warehouse organization and cleaning tasks, and complete inventory moves according to warehouse management system assignments. The role also involves preparing pallets, meeting productivity rates, communicating barriers, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. nVent describes its work environment as safe, clean, and state of the art, with paid breaks. Requirements

One year of distribution center experience.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Ability to accurately match visual information on a smartphone device with product labels.
Ability to focus on counting products accurately on every transaction to maintain inventory accuracy.
Strong addition and multiplication skills.
Ability to exchange information with coworkers and work as part of a team.
Ability to use a smartphone device continuously during the shift.
Ability to repetitively lift 10 or more pounds and occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.
Ability to remain on feet continuously throughout an 8–10-hour shift.
Ability to occasionally bend 90 degrees and twist 45 degrees.
Ability to safely operate motorized equipment and all forklift types.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions from the training lead, department lead, and department supervisor.
Ability to work voluntary or mandatory overtime as business dictates.

Responsibilities

Perform material handling tasks, including pick-location replenishment, inbound stock putaway, inventory cycle counting, and truck loading and unloading.
Complete forklift certification for all types of lifts.
Operate forklift equipment in accordance with safety policy and complete daily lift inspections.
Complete daily 5S warehouse organization and cleaning tasks.
Accurately complete inventory moves assigned through the warehouse management system, including correct quantities and locations.
Prepare pallets for putaway and replenishment according to standard work.
Meet productivity rates for each material handling task.
Communicate barriers to leads or supervisors.
Contribute to continuous improvement by participating on value stream teams or submitting suggestions to improve safety, quality, on-time delivery, or cost performance.
Help with order picking when needed.
