About The Position

Serve as a brand ambassador by providing excellent customer service while delivering customer orders to their homes. Drive a company delivery vehicle safely and efficiently in accordance with Kroger’s driving standards. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. Deliver orders on time and in good condition, communicate with customers while en route about delivery issues or changes, and resolve problems that arise. Maintain delivery records, follow food safety and temperature requirements, inspect the vehicle before use, report defects or product issues, and use company-provided technology for mapping and customer interaction. This position’s essential job functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Must annually pass a DOT-regulated medical exam.
Good driving record.
Ability to operate a delivery van and handheld tablet device.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be at least 21 years old.
A chauffeur’s license may be required in some states.
Must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Customer service experience.
Delivery driver experience.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service while delivering orders to customers.
Act as a brand ambassador when discussing Kroger’s Seamless Experience and delivery process with customers.
Maintain professionalism and appropriate personal presentation when interacting with customers.
Drive a company vehicle safely and in accordance with Kroger’s driving standards.
Ensure customer orders are delivered on time and in good condition, resolving issues that arise.
Communicate with customers while en route about delivery issues or changes, following Kroger delivery standards.
Control and maintain accurate records of customer deliveries.
Assist fellow drivers who encounter difficulties while making deliveries.
Keep goods within required temperature guidelines and monitor and record temperatures to comply with food health and safety regulations.
Handle products safely in accordance with food safety guidelines; record serious breakages or contamination issues and report them to a supervisor.
Complete pre-use inspections of the company vehicle and report defects to a supervisor.
Operate company-provided technology devices for mapping and customer interaction.
