About The Position

The Logistics Coordinator is based at Sloan Valve Company's Andover, Massachusetts location and performs administrative and clerical functions for the facility in support of the Materials Manager. The role also carries out the physical work needed to receive and ship goods and maintain inventory levels. The coordinator supports transportation and shipping operations, processes daily business transactions in SAP, manages incoming and outgoing materials, and helps maintain accurate inventory through FIFO practices and cycle counts. The position also handles shipment documentation, investigates transaction and inventory discrepancies, and contributes ideas to continuous improvement.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of forklift experience.
At least 3 years of relevant experience.
Forklift license or certification.
General experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work overtime if needed.
Experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse environments.
Positive attitude and customer-focused mindset.
Understanding of material management, including cycle counting, purchase orders, FIFO procedures, and shipping.
Understanding of shipping procedures for LTL, international shipments, and small-package shipping.
Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

General experience working with the SAP ERP business system.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with transportation systems to ensure prompt shipment pickups and deliveries.
Move inspected and approved parts into stockroom locations, recording transactions in SAP.
Refill production lines.
Ship finished goods and other items, including international shipments; prepare bills of lading, verify and pack materials, and complete SAP transactions.
Process daily SAP transactions supporting production, receiving, and shipping.
Run SAP audit reports to identify and verify inbound and outbound shipment errors.
Backflush finished goods in SAP, release transfer orders for shipment, and work with Material Analysts on component parts that need to be ordered.
Maintain inventory using First In First Out (FIFO) practices.
Conduct cycle counts, including generating physical inventory reports and researching discrepancies.
Work with the Materials Manager to file carrier damage claims when needed.
Contribute ideas to support continuous improvement.
Create shipping labels.
Maintain and file paperwork, including bills of lading, packing lists, and incoming goods receipts.
Verify, process, and put away incoming purchase orders.
Confirm skid and box counts for incoming LTL shipments.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
