Logistics Coordinator
About The Position
Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Logistics Coordinator for their Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products Distribution Centers in Portland, OR. The Logistics Coordinators are responsible for managing the day-to-day activities in the shipping and receiving offices, including providing customer service to truck drivers. The Northwest Service Centers operate two large distribution centers in the Portland area, shipping and receiving approximately 95,000 trucks annually. This is a growing and innovating business that requires flexibility in shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, though the regular schedule will be dayshift.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working with high volume numerical datasets in computer systems while meeting multiple deadlines
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Nice To Haves
- One or more years of office/clerical experience
- Experience in warehousing, transportation, or inventory control
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to the truck drivers, providing them with appropriate paperwork and instructing them on where to park their trailers
- Manage the workload of incoming and outgoing freight
- Dispatch work to the forklift drivers on the warehouse floor
- Accurately process shipping paperwork
- Greet and check in visitors
