About The Position

The Logistics Coordinator will own the dock operations, managing every pallet that comes in and goes out, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This role is crucial for ensuring that the system of record accurately reflects the physical inventory, preventing stockouts and production surprises. The coordinator will be responsible for implementing and maintaining receiving processes, managing storage locations, ensuring inventory accuracy through cycle counts and diligent record-keeping, and overseeing shipping operations. The position also involves managing freight and carriers, coordinating logistics for product launches, and minimizing manual processes through automation and AI tools. This is a hands-on role with significant responsibility for the efficiency and accuracy of the company's logistics operations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in receiving, shipping, warehouse, inventory control, or materials coordination in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment.
  • Hands-on experience in an ERP, WMS, or job ticket system.
  • Comfort with numbers and denominators; ability to calculate an accuracy rate and explain a variance.
  • Solid Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Forklift experience (certification will be provided if not current).
  • Clear written and verbal communication with production, supply chain, carriers, and vendors.
  • Comfort using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) in real work or a demonstrated hunger to learn.
  • Follow-through is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all inbound and outbound pallet movements through the receiving gate.
  • Maintain the pallet position board, ensuring it is updated daily and accurate.
  • Oversee storage locations and put-away processes, ensuring materials are stored in designated zones.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy in the system of record by closing receipts promptly and depleting returned materials.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts, publish accuracy percentages, and investigate variances.
  • Coordinate outbound staging, verification, loading, and documentation for shipments.
  • Book and track inbound and outbound freight, including domestic, international, and transfer shipments.
  • Plan and stage logistics for multi-state product launches.
  • Maintain dock paperwork, including the dock card and daily intake log.
  • Identify and implement automation and AI tools to reduce manual tasks.
  • Run the dock unsupervised.
  • Ensure all inbound loads are announced against an open position.
  • Ensure every pallet is located the day it lands.
  • Ensure every outbound ships on its scheduled date.
  • Deplete rolls and cores on the same shift they are returned.
  • Run a full cycle count and explain every variance.
  • Ensure the storage scheme is posted, labeled, and in use.
