About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring accident-free operations and compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements and regulations. The Logistics Coordinator will follow all plant safety procedures, complete pre-operation forklift inspections, and assist with loading and unloading trucks and materials. They will also be responsible for wrapping and banding finished materials, counting and recording inventory, communicating daily issues to the shipping supervisor, and performing additional duties as assigned. Key responsibilities include receiving and inspecting incoming shipments, correcting inventory issues, organizing and storing goods, coordinating with suppliers and transport companies, maintaining a clean receiving area, performing inventory audits, coordinating with other departments to resolve discrepancies, creating and maintaining shipping and receiving reports, managing incoming and outgoing shipments for timely delivery, inspecting the yard/warehouse daily, combining orders, performing backorders, and revising/correcting orders in coordination with customer service.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
  • Successful Forklift Training Required
  • Forklift experience Required
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Basic mathematical proficiency in the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers and fractions.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, reading gauges and similar measuring devices.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to accident-free operations and compliance to all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements and regulations.
  • Follow all plant safety procedures to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Complete Pre-Operation Forklift Inspection before each use.
  • Assist or perform the loading and unloading of trucks.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand and by forklift.
  • Wrap and band finished material and transport to designated areas.
  • Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled as needed.
  • Communicate daily issues and pertinent information to the shipping supervisor.
  • Perform additional duties as needed and/or assigned by leadership.
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality and ensure paperwork is correct.
  • Correct any inventory issues within 24 hours.
  • Organize and store goods in designated areas.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and transport companies to resolve issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe receiving area & workspace.
  • Perform inventory audits (Cycle Counts) and report discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve discrepancies in shipments or deliveries.
  • Create and maintain shipping and receiving reports for management review.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing shipments and ensure timely delivery.
  • Inspects the yard / warehouse daily to identify issues and review with supervisor.
  • Combine orders daily & reprint pick slips.
  • Perform backorders when needed.
  • Revises and corrects orders, and coordinates with customer service when necessary.
