About The Position

Schafer Industries is seeking a 1st shift Logistics Coordinator for its Schafer Roscoe, Illinois location. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely shipment of products to customers, reviewing received goods for damage and count accuracy, and managing inventory transactions within the ERP system. The coordinator will also communicate with various departments to prioritize tasks, operate a forklift for material transport, and maintain a clean and organized work area. This position offers a $1000 sign-on bonus and operates within an air-conditioned/heated manufacturing facility.

Requirements

Responsible for shipping accurate counts of products to customers in a timely manner using the most efficient methods.
Review product that is received for damage and accurate count.
Completes and reviews required receiving forms to ensure all information is noted and documents are attached.
Utilize ERP System (Visual) for inventory transactions, packing slips, and outside service processes.
Work in conjunction with Supervisor to communicate with production, purchasing, etc. to determine assembly, shipping, or receiving priorities.
Operate forklift to transport materials safely.

Requires physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position, including the ability to walk, stand, lift, carry up to 30 pounds, push, kneel, bend, stoop, reach over and under waist level, twist for extended periods of time on cement or other hard surfaces, etc.

Responsibilities

Manages the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
Collaborates and communicates with customer service representatives, vendors, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
Maintains a clean, neat, and member-ready area.
Promptly unloads trucks and deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables.
Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
Provides additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments.
Trouble shoots shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them.
Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.).
Place merchandise in a warehouse or storage facility by packaging, lifting items as necessary, operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large goods.
Collaborating with procurement staff to list expected deliveries.
Receiving shipments and signing paperwork upon receipt.
Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place.
Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control.
Perform daily safety inspections on company transportation vehicles before each use. This includes forklifts.
Maintain the 6S program in assigned area.
Submit the required number of continuous improvement ideas.
Channeling problems and/or complaints to appropriate person for resolution.
Supporting all Schafer policies and procedures.
Reporting to Supervisor when assignments cannot be completed.
Providing input and assistance with the implementation of quality improvement.
Performing other job-related duties as required.
Training new personnel in the operations of Shipping & Receiving.
Assisting and/or training in other areas as needed
