About The Position

The Logistics Analyst coordinates and oversees drivers, trucks, and containers to create capacity, maximize productivity, and provide prompt, courteous, and efficient service to customers. The position also oversees safety, customer experience, and productivity. It uses route data and an internal routing platform to plan and adjust routes, address real-time service needs, improve route efficiency and accuracy, and support safe and reliable driver operations. The role monitors route progress and service commitments, responds to missed pickups and delays, communicates with drivers and customers, reviews routing and disposal plans, and works with the Operations Manager on disposal recommendations and changes. It also analyzes logistics trends and data to improve route design, capacity, and profitability while helping ensure customers receive the services promised.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with required safety policies and procedures.
Analyze daily route information and adjust routing through the internal routing platform to improve standardization, efficiency, and accuracy.
Use routing system visibility to respond to same-day changes and plan for next-day customer service needs.
Verify route data and ensure routes are closed on time.
Evaluate and resolve problems that arise while trucks and drivers are in transit.
Manage driver safety and Company asset security, and provide direction to drivers.
Collect, interpret, and analyze logistics data, including inventory, asset reliability, and route data, to improve routing accuracy.
Communicate with drivers about route progress and ensure they have necessary information.
Evaluate and escalate driver performance issues or concerns.
Apply knowledge of route sequencing to improve efficiency.
Respond to missed pickups and service commitments by scheduling customers accordingly.
Evaluate and educate drivers about missed pickups and develop strategies to prevent future failures.
Create routes that maximize capacity and review daily load-per-driver goals to maximize profitability.
Monitor daily routing activity and resolve issues to support on-time pickup and delivery.
Assess the need for swing routes and identify swing opportunities.
Analyze swing-percentage trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
Monitor and adjust current- and next-day plans as conditions change.
Understand daily disposal plans and help identify optimal disposal sites for each load.
Discuss disposal plans and recommendations with the Operations Manager and update plans when intercompany or third-party changes occur.
Determine whether service requests can be moved forward to improve efficiency and customer experience.
Courteously interact with customers as required.
Design routes to support driver safety, success, and efficiency while considering hours-of-service and weight compliance.
Analyze and prioritize customer promises to ensure service commitments are met.
Update Call Center communications daily and coordinate communication to reduce missed pickups and improve information sharing between the division and customers.
Evaluate route issues that may cause delays and use available tools to communicate with impacted customers.
Review routing media for service exceptions, general messages, and extra-service information to meet customer needs.
Adhere to and execute universal service commitments to support high customer satisfaction.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
