About The Position

Join a third-party logistics company that facilitates the movement of freight. As a Logistics Agent, you will support customer service and logistics operations for manufacturing clients, helping ensure essential manufacturing parts are delivered on time to plants across the country. This contract-to-hire position is based in Belleville, Michigan, and is hybrid. The role works third shift, 11:30 PM–7:30 AM, with schedules available Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday. Employees work eight-hour shifts without a formal lunch break and may eat while working. The fast-paced call-center environment has cubicles and a dark, focused setting suited to night work. Shift premiums are offered for late-evening and weekend hours.

Requirements

At least 2 years of customer service experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to type at least 30 words per minute.
Strong communication skills, particularly by phone.
A sense of urgency and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work third-shift hours, 11:30 PM–7:30 AM.

Nice To Haves

Sales or negotiation background, preferably in a call center or high-volume contact center.
Experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations.
Interest and enthusiasm for logistics and customer service.

Responsibilities

Communicate with customers to understand shipping needs and identify efficient, cost-effective shipping methods.
Coordinate freight shipping logistics, including determining required resources such as trucks and pallets.
Track and trace shipments to ensure timely delivery.
Resolve issues arising during the shipping process using problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Provide solutions using business acumen to improve customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with teams across logistics departments.
