Logistics Agent 2nd Shift 3:30pm-11:30pm
About The Position
Join a third-party logistics team located at Willow Run airport as a Logistics Agent. The role supports the efficient movement of freight by working with carriers to arrange timely pickup and delivery of manufacturing parts across the country. You will assess customer shipping needs, coordinate transportation resources, track shipments, and resolve logistics challenges. The role also involves customer sales and retention conversations by phone. This contract-to-hire position is based in Belleville, Michigan, and follows a hybrid model: four days onsite and one day remote after the first month. The schedule is a second shift from 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM, working either Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday. Shifts are eight hours, with no traditional lunch break; employees may eat while working. Shift premiums are available for hours worked from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM and during weekends, and applicable premiums may be combined. Overtime requires supervisory approval.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of customer service experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Ability to type at least 30 words per minute.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure with a sense of urgency.
- Attention to detail.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations.
- Background in sales or negotiations, preferably in a call center or high-volume contact center.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with customers to assess shipping needs and identify the fastest, most cost-effective shipping solutions.
- Coordinate logistics by identifying required resources, such as trucks and pallets.
- Track and trace shipments to help ensure on-time delivery.
- Apply problem-solving and critical thinking to resolve logistics challenges.
- Communicate with customers by phone to support sales and retention.
