About The Position

This is a locum position for an Obstetrics and Gynecology Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide coverage in an outpatient clinic setting. The initial term is for 3 months with the possibility of extension. The role primarily focuses on gynecological cases, including well-woman visits, with some obstetrics duties as needed. Telehealth services will be integrated with traditional clinic appointments. The practitioner will be responsible for performing their own ultrasounds, including dating pregnancies up to 8 weeks, and managing preventive GYN care, endometrial biopsies (EMB), abnormal bleeding, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), Bartholin abscess management, and Pap tests. There are no on-call duties. The anticipated daily patient load is 20-24, with 12-13 scheduled patients per four-hour session. Support is provided by RNs and LVNs, and a supervising physician will be on-site. Proficiency in the EPIC EMR system is required. The credentialing process typically takes about 90 days.

Requirements

• Strong GYN experience is essential.
• Proficiency in performing own ultrasounds, including dating pregnancies up to 8 weeks.
• Proficiency in managing preventive GYN care, endometrial biopsies (EMB), abnormal bleeding, and hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
• Experience with Bartholin abscess management and Pap tests.
• Familiarity with the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Board Certification in the relevant specialty.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification.
• A valid California medical license.
