About The Position

Provide locum OB/GYN coverage at a well-equipped hospital in Petersburg, Virginia, focused on comprehensive women's health. Work collaboratively with OBHG hospitalists, dedicated nursing staff, support staff, and Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists to provide patient care, including care for high-risk pregnancies. Coverage includes 24-hour on-call shifts and participation in a 1:4 call rotation according to the assigned schedule. The position requires availability for the specific coverage dates listed, without exceptions.

Requirements

• Board certification in OB/GYN.
• Active Virginia medical license.
• Active Virginia DEA and CSR.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• At least 50 deliveries in the past 12 months, including at least 15 C-sections.
• Provide recent procedure logs for credentialing.
• Clean background with no malpractice issues.
• Availability for the specific coverage dates listed, with no exceptions.

Responsibilities

• Provide OB/GYN care in a hospital setting, including 24-hour on-call coverage.
• Perform C-sections, vaginal deliveries, suction D&C, and management of abnormal bleeding.
• Manage an average of 20 patients daily in the clinic setting.
• Coordinate with support staff to ensure optimal patient care during labor and delivery.
• Participate in the assigned call rotation at a 1:4 ratio.
• Document patient interactions and procedures using the EPIC EMR system.
• Collaborate with Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists for high-risk pregnancies.
