Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the relevant jurisdiction (or eligibility to obtain one).
  • Associate-level professional experience in primary care or a related medical field.
  • Strong clinical knowledge of primary care practices, diagnostic procedures, and treatment methods.
  • Excellent patient communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in Santa Rosa and manage a flexible contract schedule.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate patient documentation.
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality, evidence-based care.
  • Any active, unrestricted U.S. medical license
  • BLS and ACLS required

Nice To Haves

  • Board certification or board eligibility in a primary care specialty (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care assessments and evaluations to patients.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions, developing appropriate care plans.
  • Perform on-site consultations and follow-ups in line with the locum MD role.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and prescribe medications in accordance with best practices.
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely confidential patient records.
  • Adhere to medical practice protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Adapt quickly to varying patient volumes and clinic schedules as a contract physician.
  • Uphold the highest standards of ethical medical practice and patient-centered care.
