Locum MD (Medical Doctor) Primary Care

Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active and unrestricted medical license in the relevant jurisdiction (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Associate-level professional experience in primary care or a related medical field.
- Strong clinical knowledge of primary care practices, diagnostic procedures, and treatment methods.
- Excellent patient communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Santa Rosa and manage a flexible contract schedule.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate patient documentation.
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality, evidence-based care.
- Any active, unrestricted U.S. medical license
- BLS and ACLS required
Nice To Haves
- Board certification or board eligibility in a primary care specialty (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care assessments and evaluations to patients.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions, developing appropriate care plans.
- Perform on-site consultations and follow-ups in line with the locum MD role.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and prescribe medications in accordance with best practices.
- Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely confidential patient records.
- Adhere to medical practice protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Adapt quickly to varying patient volumes and clinic schedules as a contract physician.
- Uphold the highest standards of ethical medical practice and patient-centered care.
