About The Position

This Associate-level opportunity is based within a Medical Practice environment and offers a rewarding pathway for a psychiatrist looking to deliver high-quality mental health care on a flexible contract basis. In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and manage ongoing patient care. Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
  • Successful completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice
  • Associate-level clinical experience in psychiatric care
  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses, treatment modalities, and psychopharmacology
  • Excellent patient assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an on-site medical setting
  • Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care
  • Current DEA registration or ability to obtain one
  • Malpractice insurance eligibility or coverage as required for locum tenens work
  • Any active, unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory accepted

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans
  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications as appropriate
  • Provide crisis intervention and emergency psychiatric care when needed
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare providers
  • Document patient evaluations, progress notes, and treatment outcomes accurately
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and recovery strategies
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case reviews
  • Ensure compliance with medical, legal, and ethical standards in psychiatric practice
  • Maintain continuity of care during the contract assignment
