About The Position

This is a contract-based, on-site opportunity for an Associate-level physician who is committed to delivering high-quality cardiology care to patients. In this locum tenens role, you will provide expert cardiovascular assessment, diagnosis, and treatment while collaborating with our healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. As an Associate-level Cardiologist, you will have the opportunity to serve the Merced community, working within a supportive clinical environment that values clinical excellence, patient safety, and continuity of care.

Requirements

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine(DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or active board eligibility in Cardiology
  • Valid, unrestricted medical license in the applicable state of practice
  • Associate-level clinical experience in cardiology or a related internal medicine setting
  • Strong clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent patient communication and bedside manner
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a healthcare team
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records(EMR) systems
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based cardiovascular care
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying clinical schedules and on-site coverage requirements
  • Must be board-certified or board-eligible

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive cardiology consultations and evaluations for patients
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (including electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, stress tests, and other cardiac assessments)
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians, specialists, and healthcare staff to coordinate patient care
  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely in medical records
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and follow-up care
  • Participate in on-site clinical routines, patient rounds, and multidisciplinary team meetings where applicable
  • Adhere to medical practice policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide coverage for cardiology services as scheduled under the locum tenens contract agreement
  • Diagnostic caths, PCIs, unassigned EKGs, echos, cardiac consults, and managing hospital consults/rounds
