About The Position

This contract, on-site position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide essential psychiatric care to children and adolescents in a community that values compassionate, evidence-based medicine. As a Locum MD in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, you will play a critical role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating young patients facing mental health challenges. You will work within a collaborative clinical environment alongside other healthcare professionals, contributing to comprehensive treatment plans that improve patient outcomes and support families.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of a residency in Psychiatry with a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Oklahoma
  • Experience at the Associate level in psychiatric care for children and adolescents
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with patients, families, and staff
  • Ability to work effectively in an on-site, contract-based clinical setting
  • Commitment to providing culturally sensitive and patient-centered care
  • Current DEA registration and ability to prescribe controlled substances
  • BLS/ACLS certification as required by the facility
  • Malpractice insurance coverage or ability to obtain it

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for child and adolescent patients
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications with careful monitoring of side effects
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy as clinically indicated
  • Collaborate with pediatricians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare providers
  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic health record system
  • Provide crisis intervention and stabilization for acute psychiatric presentations
  • Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and resources
  • Participate in clinical case reviews and multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Adhere to all medical, legal, and ethical standards in patient care
