About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of locksmith duties, including installation, repair, and maintenance of locks, keys, and related hardware. The Locksmith will ensure the security of district facilities and provide services to various departments.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a locksmith or in a related field.
Knowledge of various types of locks, keys, and locksmith tools.
Proficiency in key duplication and lock re-keying.
Ability to service and repair door hardware, including panic bars and door closers.
Familiarity with electronic access control systems is a plus.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

Certification from a recognized locksmith association.
Experience with master key systems.
Experience in a school district or similar institutional setting.

Responsibilities

Install, repair, and maintain locks, keys, key control systems, and related hardware.
Duplicate keys and maintain key records.
Service and repair panic bars, door closers, and other door hardware.
Respond to emergency lock-out situations.
Maintain inventory of locks, keys, and locksmith supplies.
Perform routine inspections of locks and security hardware.
Assist with the installation and maintenance of electronic access control systems.
Adhere to safety procedures and district policies.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
