About The Position

Facilities Management is hiring a Locksmith to perform work under general supervision. The role maintains and repairs locks, keys, key systems, card systems, and associated hardware in campus architectural and structural elements and furnishings. The position may also assist with duties needed to support other site functions and skilled trades.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; on-call hours may be required. Travel is not required. The targeted pay rate is up to $24.18 per hour, based on experience. Hiring is contingent upon a background check and a driver's license check.

Requirements

• Vocational or technical school training in locksmithing, or 18 months of related experience in lieu of that training.
• 12 months of experience in commercial and/or residential locksmithing.
• A valid Oklahoma driver's license to drive University vehicles, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
• Hiring is contingent upon a background check and a driver's license check.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair locks, locking mechanisms, and security devices.
• Install, maintain, and repair door hardware, weather stripping, kick plates, and pneumatic closing fixtures.
• Disassemble locks and locking mechanisms to repair or replace worn tumblers and springs.
• Cut new or duplicate keys and stamp them with identification numbers or letters.
• Issue keys and maintain records of keys issued and returned.
• Complete and maintain reports of work performed, parts replaced, and time spent.
• Perform duties needed to support site functions, including assisting skilled trades.
