About The Position

The Locksmith / Access Control Technician supports a secure government customer facility in Northern Virginia and serves as the primary locksmith and technical authority for lock, key, and hardware security. The position administers the Lock & Key Control Program, maintains physical and electronic locking systems (including the HIRSCH badging system), and ensures GSA and SCIF/Open Storage compliance in coordination with government civilian and contractor personnel.

Requirements

Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI).
At least 8 years of professional locksmith experience.
Valid Virginia Locksmith Certification / Registration.
Demonstrated experience operating specialized locksmith equipment, key-cutting machines (code and duplicator), diagnostic tools, and key/security management databases.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to draft, evaluate, and track formal technical and security reports.
Excellent customer service orientation, organizational aptitude, and attention to detail.
Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and technical service calls concurrently.
Ability to meet the physical demands described, including frequent lifting and moving of items weighing up to 50 lbs and occasional lifting and moving of items weighing up to 100 lbs.
Required vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust optical focus.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary locksmith and technical authority for lock, key, and hardware security.
Administer the Lock & Key Control Program.
